Professional translators never sign documents not translated by them without verifying that such documents have been properly and accurately translated to the best of professional translator’s knowledge, having also the right to reformulate them. Dictating to the professional translator how to translate a document and/or a text and interfering by any means in the translation process is prohibited.
The professional translator has the right to sign solely and exclusively documents translated by him/her and affix his/her professional seal. The professional translator bears no responsibility for the source texts/documents and he/she is not entitled to affix his/her professional seal on source texts/documents and/or verify such texts/documents’ authenticity.
